About the grandMA3 Light

The grandMA3 Light is MA Lighting’s full-featured mid-range console in the grandMA3 family, the work-horse of the range, as MA themselves describe it. It delivers the complete grandMA3 operating system, show-file compatibility, and network architecture as the grandMA3 Full in a purpose-built control surface designed for the most demanding live productions. Running the grandMA3 OS, the desk integrates fully into any grandMA3 network: processing units, onPC nodes, MA switches, and grandMA3 Full consoles can all be combined on the same session.

The desk ships with an integrated keyboard drawer, a built-in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for protection against brownouts and momentary power loss, and individually backlit, dimmable silent (clickless) keys, making it equally at home in a quiet theatre and a high-noise arena environment.

Control Surface & Connectivity

The grandMA3 Light’s control surface is built around 15 motorized 60mm faders and 2 motorized 100mm A/B faders with motor feedback for precise cue tracking. 41 RGB backlit rotary encoders and 5 dual encoders handle parameter control, while 60 independent playbacks and 16 assignable X-keys give operators direct access to the entire show structure without menu navigation. The six-screen layout (2 foldable internal multi-touch monitors, 2 letterbox screens, 2 command screens, plus 2 external DisplayPort outputs) provides simultaneous views of programmer, patch, executor, and playback data.

Connectivity is comprehensive: 6 DMX outputs and 1 DMX input (5-pin XLR), 3 etherCON ports, MIDI In/Out, Linear Timecode, Audio In, GPI for remote control, S/PDIF, and 6 USB ports. Standard parameters sit at 16,384 HTP/LTP, scaling to 250,000 parameters with grandMA3 processing units added to the network.
