Yes, when they’re operated correctly, and that’s our job. Cold spark machines run cool at the nozzle, and the sparks themselves cool quickly the instant they leave the machine. There’s no flame, no smoke, and no residue on your gowns or floors. Our operator sets safety distances on the night to clear ceilings, drapes, and guests, so the only thing your photographer captures is the moment.

The low-fog effect hugs the floor and dissipates before reaching ceiling-mounted smoke detectors in most venues. Where the venue requires it, we coordinate detector isolation as part of set-up. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we’ll confirm everything in advance.

Each machine is loaded for impact, not duration. Think dramatic 25 to 30 second bursts on your cues, your entrance, first dance, and cake cut, rather than a continuous shower. That timing is exactly what makes the photos and reels look cinematic.

Everything you’d expect from a personalised service. Delivery, full set-up before guests arrive, a dedicated operator running cues with your MC or DJ, and pack-down at the end of the night. GST is included and there are no surprise fees inside our service area.

Most venues are happy to host cold spark, especially with our public liability and risk documentation in hand. A few venues say no to any open-flame or pyro effect. Send us the venue name when you enquire and we’ll handle the conversation with your venue coordinator directly.

Both. Cold spark and dancing on a cloud are our signature wedding packages, but Krank’d is a production lighting company year-round: battery-powered wireless uplighting, festoon and string-light canopies, and dance-floor lighting all come from the same professional hire stock we run for theatres and festivals. Tell us the look you are after when you enquire and we will quote it alongside your spark package.

Yes. Wireless uplighting washes the room in your colours, festoon overhead turns a marquee or courtyard into the venue, and an operator can shift the whole look through the night: soft for speeches, bold for the dance floor. Because the fixtures are battery-powered there are no cables across your floor, and everything is set up before guests arrive.

Wedding dates fill quickly through peak season (October to April). We recommend reaching out as soon as your date is confirmed. A deposit secures the date; we’ll walk you through the rest.
