The Obsidian Control Netron RP2 is a compact, intelligent DMX power relay designed to give lighting operators precise control over mains power distribution to connected fixtures. Using two independent high-current dual-pole relay circuits, the RP2 can completely cut power to fixtures on command, protecting equipment from prolonged standby draw, reducing electrical wear, and extending the operational lifespan of your rig.

Control is managed entirely over DMX512 and RDM, with a front-panel 5-pin DMX In and Thru for easy signal chaining. The rear panel features IP65-rated locking power connectors (one inlet and two outlets), keeping mains connections secure in demanding production environments. Configuration and real-time feedback are handled through a 1.3″ OLED display with rotary encoder, giving technicians on-site access to voltage monitoring, power status, and historical data without needing a laptop or separate RDM controller.

Key Features for Live Production

The RP2 is built with the realities of touring and installation in mind. Automated power sequencing with configurable delay times, triggered by DMX signal sensing, allows safe, ordered startup and shutdown of fixture loads without manual intervention. The onboard 24/7 event scheduler adds an auto-shutdown function, enabling operators to limit unnecessary fixture run-time even when a full-time operator isn’t present, a practical feature for permanent installs, themed environments, and unattended displays.
