The Astera ART7 AsteraBox is a compact, battery-powered wireless DMX transceiver designed to serve as the nerve centre of any Astera lighting rig. Acting as the bridge between a lighting console or the AsteraApp and your Astera fixtures, the ART7 supports multiple wireless protocols simultaneously, including CRMX, W-DMX, Bluetooth 4.0, and UHF, making it compatible with a wide ecosystem of professional wireless lighting control systems.

Weighing just 230 g and measuring 144 × 78 × 30 mm, the ART7 is purpose-built for portability without sacrificing range or reliability. In CRMX and UHF modes, it delivers a wireless transmission range of up to 300 metres, while Bluetooth connectivity provides convenient close-range control via the AsteraApp for on-the-fly adjustments to colour, intensity, and effects.

Battery Life & Connectivity

The ART7’s internal battery offers an impressive 72-hour runtime in App mode and 16 hours in CRMX mode, making it well suited to multi-day shoots, touring productions, and events where power access is limited or inconvenient. Recharging via Micro-USB (5V DC, 1A) takes approximately 8 hours. DMX hardwire connectivity is provided via a 3.5 mm jack for both input and output, allowing the ART7 to function equally well as a wired DMX node where required.
